Recently remodelled, Venn Street is part of the fantastic Clapham Gateway development project and two minutes from Clapham Common.

Situated in Eton House this two bedroomed apartment directly overlooked the buzzing market street, and was in dire need of redevelopment to reflect its revitalised surroundings. The original property layout was disjointed, making the accommodation appear dark and cramped.

We addressed this by removing walls & opening up the space - allowing natural light to flood in from both ends of the building and travel throughout the interior.

To accentuate this flow, the lines of the kitchen were extended into the open plan living area, creating a linear perspective and emphasizing the length of the room.

To compliment the 1950s architecture, a refreshing mid-century palette was chosen, along with furnishings to reflect the era.
Harmonious colours were used throughout, keeping the style cohesive and integral.

Plenty of storage was essential, so floor to ceiling fitted wardrobes and cupboards were built and painted to blend seamlessly into the walls. Vertical line detail was used in doors and radiators to maximize the height of the space.

These were in turn echoed in the horizontal lines of metal venetian blinds, used throughout, which maximized the natural daylight.

The result was the creation of a bright comfortable open plan home. A modern apartment with a mid-century twist!
